CASA PAGODA

BY CLAIRETON

BEFORE CLAIRETON, THERE WAS CASA PAGODA.

Before Claireton, there was Casa Pagoda — a furniture and lifestyle concept that Leontien Nipshagen helped build in Asia.

Founded in 2003, Casa Pagoda grew into an international design business with stores and projects across cities, including Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Moscow, and Bangkok. Its identity was shaped by a mix of East and West: contemporary and vintage influences, strong craftsmanship, carefully sourced pieces, and a way of bringing together objects, materials, and furniture with a clear sense of atmosphere.

Casa Pagoda was never only about selling furniture. It was about creating spaces with personality — spaces that felt collected rather than generic, layered rather than overdesigned, and always grounded in a strong visual point of view.

Through that work, Leontien developed a practical understanding of sourcing, supplier relationships, logistics, and the numerous decisions that underlie a finished interior. That chapter remains an important foundation for Claireton today. It is evident in the studio’s attention to materiality, its interest in the final decorative layer of a space, and its belief that a project becomes truly complete through the right combination of architecture, furnishings, and details.

Casa Pagoda shaped the way Leontien works: internationally minded, hands-on in process, and always attentive to what gives a space its identity.

Casa Pagoda was featured in selected design, lifestyle, and real estate publications, including b-guided Barcelona, Scout Real Estate, and Vogue España.
