Claireton is a Barcelona-based interior design studio working across interior architecture and design, renovation, and spatial transformation. The studio develops projects from early concept to final realization, shaping spaces with a strong sense of atmosphere, materiality, and identity.
Founded by Leontien Nipshagen, Claireton works on private residences and design-led transformations, while remaining open to projects in other sectors that align with the studio’s sensibility and approach. Each project is developed in response to its context, with careful attention to proportion, materials, and the overall feeling of the space.
Before founding Claireton, Leontien built Casa Pagoda, a furniture and lifestyle business established in Asia, where she developed a deep understanding of sourcing, furniture, supplier networks, and the practical side of creating spaces with character. That experience continues to shape Claireton today — especially in the way the studio approaches procurement, styling, and the final layer that gives a project warmth, depth, and individuality.

Leontien Claire Nipshagen
Leontien grew up in the Netherlands and Belgium, but it was China that shaped her. In 2000 she moved to Shanghai, and over the following twelve years she built Casa Pagoda — a furniture retail business with showrooms and supplier networks spanning China and Thailand. She sourced directly from makers, understood materials at their origin, and developed a practical fluency in procurement that no design course can teach.
In 2012 she moved to Barcelona. The city was a natural fit — the architecture, the light, the mix of old and new — and she began applying everything she had built in Asia to a new context. Interior design, property acquisition, renovation, staging. She understood that the most useful thing she could offer a client wasn't just taste, but the ability to execute: to manage a project from first conversation to final installation, on time and without surprises.
